The charger plug is often placed on the floor between charges. Not only does this represent a tripping hazard for drivers and technicians, it is also easily run over by an oncoming forklift.
Spring balancers provide a safe remedy for that. If you have attached your cable to the plug start to pull it back to a safe height after loosening the plug connection. At the same time, they ensure that there is practically no pull on the battery connectors during charging.
