The brake shoes are arranged inside the drum brake. When braking, the wheel brake cylinder pushes them apart and thus from the inside against the brake drum. The vehicle is braked by the friction created here. In the process, the brake lining applied to the brake shoes is rubbed off. Brake shoes belong to the welding parts on the forklift which condition must be checked regularly.
